The Team Dedicated to Bringing Life to WoT

Devlogs of a Living World: Meet The Team Building The World

Ink and Ashes

This isn’t just backstory.
It’s a world built between breaths—
by artists, writers, rebels chasing something true.

Nariko’s not the only one learning to fight.
We’re building this story together,
one page, one choice, one spark at a time.

THE TEAM: Part 1

For the past two years, we’ve been working on Whispers of Taiji in quiet. We were laying the groundwork and building a winning team to bring the best IP to life that we possibly could.

We wanted to take a few emails to introduce you to all of the talented (and highly experienced) nerds that we’ve brought together.

EXPERIENCE YOU CAN TRUST

What anime world would you never survive in, but go to anyway?

Demon Slayer. I’d be the first to die, probably by tripping and falling straight into a demon’s mouth. But hey, dying to that hauntingly beautiful soundtrack? At least it’s dramatic, right? Right?

Got any low-key OP skill or hobbies IRL?

I binge-read 600+ manga chapters, draw to vent, learned tattooing, and even built a JavaScript library for keyboard navigation for correctional facilities. I’ve somehow hit 99th percentile in ridiculously stubborn self-discipline.

Which anime, manga, or game do you keep coming back to like it’s a comfort spell?

I derive enjoyment from the animated series Atashinchi and Gintama, known for their comedic value.

Which elemental domain calls to you and why?

Lightning because electricity is fundamental to my existence.

What’s your go-to role party role in co-op games?

I suck at most co-op games so I usually play as fodder and equipment carrier.

Got any low-key OP skills or hobbies IRL?

I can run fast enough for a speed sign to tell me to slow down, and I can solve a Rubik’s Cube (I’m colorblind).

Which elemental domain calls to you and why?

Water. It’s beautiful, can be destructive, and always feels a little magical to me. I’ve just always loved it.

What’s your go-to role party role in co-op games?

Chaos. Just chaos. Not even a gremlin. I don’t know where I am or what I’m supposed to be doing, but I’m there o7

PROJECT UPDATES

We’re chatty — in the best way.
We believe in transparency and hype. You’ll hear from us often as we continue building this thing out, so expect updates, teases, and the occasional unhinged lore drop.

Webcomic (the lore you aren’t ready for)
If you’ve been following Nariko’s journey, you know where we left off: fleeing from the blaze, lungs burning, heart pounding, diving headfirst into the unknown. She thought she could handle it. That this trip to the capital would be simple. That her strength and resolve were enough. That her father was wrong to hold her back.

Spoiler: he wasn’t.

This world doesn’t care how brave you are. Sometimes you can give everything and still fail to save the people who mattered most.

Season 1 of our webcomic is more than just a backlog, it’s the prologue. The quiet before the storm. The part where you think you understand the rules… only to realize the Tower hasn’t even shown its face yet. These next chapters (dropping in just a couple weeks 👀) will bridge the gap between myth and game, teasing out the echoes of stories you’ll soon shape with your own hands.

Because yes, the timelines will converge.

We’re playing a long game here—multiple seasons, layered arcs, and threads that blur the line between comic, campaign, and canon. What starts on the page may end at your table. And if you think the characters are fictional… well, let’s just say some of them haven’t shown up in the player roster yet.

Could your character end up in the story?
Could your vote change the fate of someone in a later episode?
Could a random forum post from your party unlock a lore thread we’ve been hiding since Chapter One?

Yes. To all of it.

In Whispers of Taiji, your story isn’t separate from ours. You’re part of the legend now. So let’s keep writing it.

Until next time, may Mekhi be with you.
