KICKSTARTER SNEAK PEEKS

The Kickstarter for Whispers of Taiji: The Ascent of Aeon TTRPG is getting close. We’re excited to let people into the world that we’ve been able to create so they can explore it for themselves.

This Kickstarter will launch our campaign for Astra’s fabled Tower of Aeon. In the Tower, you and your party will be faced with many challenges, battles, and puzzles.

You’ll have to work together with your party continue to scale the tower and reach the top. But winning is not as straight-forward as simply reaching the top.

Psychological Gameplay Mechanics

Whispers of Taiji isn’t just about combat—it’s a test of loyalty, deception, and emotional survival. Beneath the surface of its anime-inspired fantasy world lies a deadly psychological layer where:

  • 🎭 Alliances are fluid — Players may begin as allies, but the Tower rewards only one Champion. Will you protect your party... or outmaneuver them?

  • 💬 Trust dynamics are tracked — Trust/Betrayal lets you gain or lose influence over other players based on your actions, words, and secrets revealed in-game.

  • 🧩 Meta-roleplay is encouraged — Certain trials may reward players for manipulating others, lying with confidence, or even staging heroic sacrifices to gain favor with the Administrators (NPCs or GM-controlled forces).

  • 🌀 Administrators can alter perception — Take on the role of shadowy "Administrators" who manipulate outcomes, offer secret deals, or pit characters against each other through hidden objectives.

  • 🎲 PvP is not just allowed—it’s inevitable — Choose when to flip the switch. Backstab in a final moment. Or lose by being too loyal.

This is not just a TTRPG. It's an arc-building machine. Every session shapes your story. Every betrayal moves your character closer to their destiny—or their downfall.

Religion: Mekhi, the God of Balance

The faith devoted to Mekhi, the God of Balance, is centered around the belief that balance is the core principle of existence. Mekhi is revered as the one who made magic available to the world, weaving it into the very fabric of life. His followers believe he maintains the delicate harmony between creation and destruction, light and dark, order and chaos. According to sacred texts, Mekhi descended from the Celestial Plane during the world’s infancy when chaos and imbalance ruled. To uplift the chaos, he gifted mortals with magic, and left it in their hands to bring out its full potential. Today, magic is seen in every step, especially in our everyday tools.

Daily Rituals and Practices 
Whispers say that constantly doing these ritualistic practices brings you closer to Mekhi. Some even say that there are practitioners who have seen Mekhi himself as a traveling merchant selling out-of-this-world goods.

Daily Offerings 
Worshippers offer small enchanted items or objects of their craft at local shrines to honor Mekhi for the magic that he gifted.

Meditation 
Each day, followers meditate in silence for a brief period, envisioning a perfectly balanced scale, contemplating the balance in their own lives and the world around them.
